When you’ve got an explanation
Outside the official sponsored version
That may tend to implicate the official,
But you’re too small for their coercion
Too small to die in a single car crash
Or an “accidentally” downed plane,
They can marginalize you, trivialize you,
And imply that you’re insane.

They brand you a “conspiracy nut”
“Hey have you flown on a UFO?”
Did the hammers batter down your door?
Did you take acid years ago?
Do you really believe your lying eyes?
Yeah, I know they got it on film.
But an all-white jury said the cops were innocent
I can’t believe you’re worried about that still.

And the Supreme Court said that less is more
In fact they told us to not even count.
Since Tom Delay’s thugs scared off the volunteers
The tally is already shut down.
You know those old Jews voted for Pat Buchanan
And the Black folks couldn’t get to the polls.
But Anton Scalia, the duck-hunting quack
Is the vote that determines control.

And do you really believe there was more than just Oswald
Now that all the witnesses are dead?
Oh, the Zapruder film and that nagging close-up
Of that frontal shot exploding his head.
And the Assassination Committee in ‘72
Saying, “We guess the Warren Commission was wrong.”
It’s official now,
We don’t really know.
Are you happy?
Can we finally move on?

Who really did it?
Where was George Bush?
Gambini and Giancanna?
What are you, some conspiracy nut?
Have a little more marijuana.

The world’s greatest Air Force,
Umpteen bazillion bucks strong
Overcome by a carpet knife.
Directives not followed,
The Pentagon hit,
And a tragic loss of life.
NORAD had intercepted 67 planes
In the 7 or 8 months prior.
Yet for close to two hours they didn’t turn a wheel
As we watched the new “Reichstag Fire.”
Then Bush and Rice said, “Who could have known
They were capable of such a thing?”
Well anyone who listened to the FBI tips
Or read the Presidents Daily Brief.
Or saw the thousands of put options
Placed just days before
On United Air and American
And Morgan Stanley who had 20 floors
Is this ignorance or arrogance?

But that morning the President was reading about goats
While Cheney was in an “undisclosed bunker.”
While it was abundantly clear we were under attack,
Bush sat calmly in view of the public.
Did the Secret Service ever think
Perhaps the President and these kids are a target?
The whole country was watching his photo-op
You think this detail was news to Osama?
You know the guy we pinned it on,
“Dead or Alive!”
The one we had pinned down in Tora Bora.
That somehow escaped,
Yet another mistake,
Is he still CIA?
Well sorta.

Another black sheep from a wealthy family
Seems to be a pattern these days,
Like John Hinckley who shot Reagan
While Neil Bush had dinner
With Hinckley’s brother at his Denver place.
As George Bush the spook and the Langley elite
Waited word on the change of the guard,
It was decided by Bush that this was a lone random nut.
Any other theories weren’t looked at too hard.

Like who would benefit from the Old King’s demise?
And had overthrown other world leaders?
And who is an operative maintaining the guise
Of a bumbling good-hearted elitist?
Who was there in Dallas with Howard Hunt?
Who had ships at the Bay of Pigs?
Who on the Nixon Tapes was called by name
As the man who “would do anything?”

Careful Tricky Dick before you “open a scab
And that ‘Bay of Pigs’ thing all runs out”
With the Cubans and the Texans, Hoover and all
The little piggies with blood stained snouts.

But we erase the tapes, purge the libraries,
And classify, gag and disguise.
And Ted Olson, Bush Junior’s private council
Said “the government has the right to tell lies.”
While Jesus says, “I am the TRUTH”
And by my Truth is the Way and the Light.
It sounds like he never quite got the memo
When he was appropriated by the radical right.
